At the end of the 19th century, in the heart of the Marennes-Oléron, driven by his passion for oyster farming, Henri Gillardeau elaborated the foundations of Maison Gillardeau. Known for their quality, Gillardeau oysters quickly experienced dazzling success.
In 1978, Gérard Gillardeau, at the head of the company, gave birth to the iconic Gillardeau oyster. Its quality, which is recognised by its appearance, as well as the generosity of its flesh, swiftly make it a synonym for excellence among oyster lovers.
In 1998, generation after generation, Maison Gillardeau improved its know-how. Thierry and Véronique Gillardeau joined Gérard in the adventure. In 2014, to fight counterfeiting, Maison Gillardeau equipped its packaging chain with a laser, and engraved each of its oysters with the logo of the House, the symbol of their authenticity. A family commitment that has lasted for 100 years to offer you the most refined oyster in the world.
Lingering on the palate, this meaty flesh with its aromatic finesse and enduring nutty flavour is the signature taste of the Gillardeau.
