Quality & Freshness

According to the Food Standards Agency, we should be eating at least two to three portions of fish a week, including one portion of oily fish. But most people aren’t eating enough fish. Fish and shellfish are rich in protein and minerals, and oily fish is rich in omega-3 fatty acids.

Sustainability is our highest priority. We personally know the fishermen we work with and we catch our seafood in accordance with established seasons. We do not sell any protected fish species and our farms are ASC, Global G.a.p and B.A.P certified. 

Recommendations

All our products are live or fresh, unless otherwise clearly mentioned on the product page.

We will select and pack your seafood only after we have received your order. Under normal circumstances, you will receive your pre-ordered products 2-3 days after packing (unless otherwise clearly mentioned on the product page).

Our live and fresh seafood should be stored between 3 and 7°C in the refrigerator (for best results, place in the bottom of the refrigerator). Frozen seafood needs to be stored in a freezer at a temperature of -18°C.

As most of our products are live or fresh, it means they are suitable for freezing (unless otherwise clearly mentioned on the product page). When purchasing frozen products, once they are defrosted, they must not be refrozen. 

Yes, unfortunately, it is possible to find small bones in your fish product. While all our seafood is carefully filleted by hand, you always need to check your fillet for the presence of small bones before consuming it.

Pickup or Delivery

Our fresh seafood purchased from the auction is vacuum-packed. All our products, including live and frozen seafood, will be delivered in a sustainable cooler bag with icepack.

SeafoodFriday does not have a retail shop. It is our priority to supply you with super fresh seafood at affordable prices. Upon receiving your orders, our fishmongers will select and prepare your fish in the Netherlands and we will ship direct to Hong Kong.
