Our Frozen Cooked whelks, also known as sea snails / Bulots, are handpicked from Normandy, France. The whelks are already cooked so you simply thaw them in ice water for 10 minutes and they are ready to eat! Whelks taste salty, fresh and sweet. Cooked Whelks are low in fat and are clean from the shell (no moss) to the intestines (smooth liver). 100 grams of whelk meat provides over 90% of your daily value of vitamin B12, zinc, and selenium.
Our whelks are cooked and frozen immediately after harvest to preserve its umami taste. The whelk meat is thick, fresh, sweet, and fleshy with an elastic texture.
