Long Description
Cod loin is cut from the middle section, that is, the fattest part of the fillet. The pearly white loins are the thickest part of the fillet, and they offer the juiciest and most succulent texture that becomes flaky once baked. A bit sweeter than their Pacific cousin, Atlantic cod has a lean, flaky yet somewhat dense flesh that is mild but distinctive in flavour. If you enjoy pollock, haddock and hake, be sure to also include Atlantic cod on your menu.
In terms of nutrition, Atlantic cod is versatile, as well. It is high in protein and a good source of vitamins A, C, B6, and B12, as well as omega-3 fatty acids.
Atlantic cod loin is a real treat, with a fresh colour, mild yet distinctive flavour, and moderately oily, firm flesh with large white flakes
