Firstly, defrost the Black Cod Steaks by putting them in your fridge a day in advance.
Preheat your oven to 190 degrees C
To make the marinade: combine the miso paste, soy sauce, vinegar, olive oil and black pepper. Make sure to mix it well until it becomes a smooth texture.
Now to marinade the cod steaks: in a big zip lock bag add the black cod steaks combined with the miso marinade we made. Press the air out of the bags and seal them tightly. You can leave it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
Afterwards, take the black cod steaks out of the bag and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
In the preheated oven, bake them for 18-20 minutes or until they’re golden brown. When you take them out, let them rest at room temperature for about 5 minutes.
Plate them nicely and in a separate bowl, mix the sesame oil and soy sauce and drizzle it over the black cod steaks. As a finishing touch, sprinkle some sesame seeds and cilantro on top. Enjoy!
