Heat the oven to 200ºC. Cook pasta (al dente) in plenty of salted water according to the instructions.
Heat the olive oil in a frying pan. Fry the onion, garlic and red pepper. Fry the bell pepper for 3 minutes. Pour the strained tomatoes into the pan. Heat the tomato sauce on low heat for 5 minutes.
Add the mussel meat, olives and capers to the sauce. Season with some salt and pepper.
Drain the pasta and add to the tomato sauce. Pour into a furnace dish and top off with slices mozzarella and some pepper.
Bake for around 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Sprinkle with some basil leaves.
